Trumpets are mentioned all through the Bible. Guess they have been around a long time. They are spoken of the the Old testament and the New. One of these days, the angel Gabriel will blow his trumpet and she'll all be over. Trumpets are still used in marching bands, dance bands, and as solo instruments. They have a close cousin called a Coronet. Then there's the bugle, used in calvary charges, etc. So I guess mankind is stuck with the trumpet from now on. Not a bad sound when they are in the hands of somebody like Harry James or Al Hurt, huh?
