Dye

People of yesterday made most of their clothes.........including the fabric and tread. Come to think of it, that wasn't so very long ago. One of the things that people wanted, was to be able to determine the color of their fabric and tread. If a certain color was desired, there was a dye to make it that color. There were several companies dedicated to making dye and tints for fabric coloring. The box in the photo contained such items. Country stores would usually order this item a box at a time, so they would have a supply for a year or so and not have to order so often. If you didn't see the color that you wanted, the store owner could order it for you.
