Plow Horses
There was a time in America when a plow horse was more valuable than any other single item around the farm. You could ride they, plow them, hitch them to wagons for hauling, etc. They were all named and loved as individuals. These horses knew word signals such as "gee" and "haw" which told them which direction the plow master wanted them to to. Plow horses were also used to clear new fields from forests. They were especially helpful in pulling out stumps, gathering logs and parts of trees for burning or sending to the sawmill. Yep! The plow horses were a mans tool of choice when it came time to work.
