Lift Blade Metal Ice Trays

Before electricty came to rural areas, people put their perishable food items in springs to keep them cool. Then came the "ice box" that would keep food from spoiling. It would keep a large block of ice for a week or more. Next came electricity and metal ice trays that had segmented compartments for ice. You just dump the entire tray of ice out of the tray and them get out individual pieces of ice.

It was a quantum leap when manufacturers produced the lift blade ice tray (see photo). Then, you could just lift the blade and out came uniform pieces of ice. WOW!
What will they think of next!
