Cigar Boxes

Early Americans smoked a lot of tobacco. For many men, the choice smoke was the cigar. There was a phrase at one time that said, "what America needs, is a good
ten-cent cigar". For most wives and children, the product in the box was not nearly so important as the box itself! It was useful as a dry storage item for things such as buttons, coins, arrowheads, thread, rocks, and other "treasures". The boxes stacked evenly so you could stack a lot of them into a small space. It also made a good box for mailing stuff in because it was light weight and sturdy. No matter how long you had the box.............it seldom lost the cigar smell. Didn't matter, wives and kids loved them.
