Trundle Bed

The dictionary says that a trundle bed is: a low bed on small wheels or casters, that can be rolled underneath another bed when not in use. The one in the picture was actually in use until the late 1990's. These little beds came in handy when there was company at the house, or when there was a child with special needs that had to be near their parents for a variety of reasons. It was nice to, to be able to roll the bed underneath another one to "get it out of the way" when not needed.
They were easy to make. In fact they were usually hand made by someone on the farm or plantation.
